Be part of the fun and join Mama, Papa, Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear as they cook up holiday favorites and some unique eats for friends and family with the all-new The Berenstain Bears Holiday Cookbook. Filled with traditional holiday favorites like Frosted Sugar Cookies, Pumpkin Pie, Hot Apple Cider Punch, Cranberry Stuffing, and some unique and fun recipes like Papa Bear’s Paw-Licking Good Chicken Wings, this kid-friendly cookbook will help Bear Country families, and families and friends everywhere, have the most wonderful year of eating ever!
Young cooks and their adult assistants will find recipes for beverages, meals and sides, and sweets and treats.
The Berenstain Bears’ Holiday Cookbook includes recipes for celebrating Valentine’s Day, Easter, July 4th, fall festivities, and Christmas. Each section is graced with a main dish and side(s), themed beverage, and a smattering of sweet, shareable treats. Easy to follow step-by-step directions will go a long way towards building your child’s confidence in the kitchen.
Included are 41 recipes with varying degrees of difficulty, offering the opportunity for young cubs to join the fun with adult assistance. Formatting is identical to the Berenstain Bears’ Country Cookbook — boasting full page, full color photos of every dish. Delightfully, each of the 6 sections begin with a bible verse, followed by a Bear family introduction to the holiday. Additional illustrations appear every other page.
If you ask my 8 and 11 year old, they’ll agree that this is a 5 Star kids cookbook! Their culinary skills were on par with the demands of even the most detailed recipe, so I was relegated to the role of safety monitor and taste tester. This suited me fine for I enjoyed watching them take ownership of their dishes. As an added bonus, I noted my picky eater was willing to eat something he had labored to create. The Berenstain Bears’ Holiday Cookbook will be the first place we look the next time we need a dish for a holiday potluck or classroom party.
